Together, we can… draw from English-inspired garden style, incorporate richly layered planting schemes, divide space strategically, and utilize materials for a reflection of unique personality and place.
Together we can grow as gardeners.
Bespoke GARDEN DESIGN
The full-service design process dives into the intersection of these two and guides from concept to execution with trusted partners. Design consulting might be perfect for the client who simply needs a vision for what is possible with their space.
GARDEN WORKSHOPS
Gardens are meant to be shared, and there’s almost nothing that I love more than hosting in my garden, which I consider my laboratory.. Each workshop is an invitation to step into the garden, enjoy good company, and explore meaningful garden-inspired topics in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The Garden GAB PODCAST
Join me and my friend and fellow garden designer Molly Hendry to cohost a biweekly “virtual garden club.” We chat about all things design and the trials and challenges in our own gardens. Mostly, we laugh a lot and have a grand time!
The warmest welcome! I’m so glad that you’re here.
I’m Tessa, a designer and gardener. I always say “designer and gardener” in the same breath, because the work that I do for my clients is so firmly rooted in my own lived experience as a gardener of a place that I love and a mother whose family makes priceless memories every day out in the garden.
My style blends classical design with the romantic charm of English gardens. Inspired by the decorative arts and shaped by a background in fine art and luxury events, I am to make work that is both beautiful and livable—solid, practical bones layered with lush, diverse planting.
Working with me is a personal, intuitive, and joyfully collaborative experience. Through thoughtful conversations, style direction, and sketching, I translate my client’s desires into a concrete plan that reflects the character and features of their site. I also enjoy staying involved; needs change, and gardens grow. I have relationships with some of my clients that span years and multiple garden iterations.
